I originally wanted this leather jacket I found on Net-a-porter last week. Unfortunately, it being the “holiday season,” I found myself splurging for others, with absolutely nothing left for myself. Okay, I’m lying. Even if I wasn’t holiday shopping, I still could not independently, afford this $1,165 vest. Well, unless I was planning to live full of guilt and perhaps, broke for the next few months. Luckily, while strolling through Forever 21 I noticed this faux-leather jacket for under $40. As soon as I tried it on, I was sold. There’s nothing better than a versatile vest; a guilt-free, animal cruelty-free versatile vest. Wear it with a maxi dress, a skirt, shorts, jeans, trousers. Seriously, what can you not wear a leather jacket with? Okay, maybe, a wedding dress? Anyway, I can’t wait to put it into use. I have a feeling this is going to my go-to garment when I’m pressed for time.
For some reason this skirt from Nasty Gal reminds me of a pair of googly eyes. I kinda love it. Thinking of wearing it with combat boots, Miu Miu sparkly glitter heels, or my half-priced DIY version of them. (Photos from that coming soon.) I might even wear it over a pair of leather pants. There are no rules in wardrobe, anyway. Except, maybe, trying not to look like a street-walker? I think I break this one every once in a while.
My mom gave me this faux-fur asymmetrical poncho about two years ago for Christmas. I have never worn it. Not because I didn’t like it, but because I didn’t really know what to pair it with. My goal this winter is to get at least 3 different outfits with this thing. I mean, seriously, doesn’t it remind you of a Navajo winter princess? I think so. I’ll channel my inner native indian when I do decide to wear it. Pocahontas, who? Any of you have ideas for this thing? Let me know. Help a sister out.
This pair of palazzo pants is the epitome of four different trends in one. First we have pleats, then we get chiffon; keep your eyes moving down south and we get a glimpse of the wide leg. Finally, the most obvious, a bright blue. Every time I wear these, I feel like I’ve been swallowed by a blue sea. They’re huge. So you know I love them. I got this over at ASOS a few months ago. On sale too! Pats myself on back.
Last but definitely not least, my beanie obsession. I don’t like just any beanie though; I prefer a snug fitting one. Kind of like a condom? (Did I really just correlate my beanie obsession with a Trojan?) Well, you get the picture. I think these are colorful and cool. I remember the first time I wore a beanie, I thought I was a rapper. Seriously though, these things are so perfect for winter. They keep you warm, plus they save time when getting dressed. I usually wear one when I let my hair air-dry and want to hide some frizz around the top. Or, when I’m feeling like a rapper.
